Minnesota mayor accused of sending texts about desire to be ‘weinered’

A Minnesota mayor is being accused of repeated Sєxual harᴀssment and sending a suggestive message about her receiving a ‘weinering.’

St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her has been hit with a Sєxual harᴀssment complaint filed by the city’s police chief Axel Henry, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Henry claimed that Her, 53, had acted inappropriately towards subordinate city employees and Saint Paul Police Department members.

Among the accusations is that Her allegedly sent a text to a city employee reading, ‘Happy Weiner Wednesday!’

A partially redacted image depicting a swaddled baby was underneath the message, according to the outlet.

The redacted portion allegedly featured the face of a St. Paul police officer who sometimes works on Her’s security detail edited onto the baby’s body.

‘When she wraps you up in a blanket after you gave her a good weinering,’ the text above read, the outlet added.

The Democratic mayor allegedly added two crying with laughter emojis to punctuate the message.

The police chief, Axel Henry, has alleged that Her acted inappropriately towards members of the Saint Paul Police Department, as well as subordinate city employees

Before that, the St. Paul mayor appeared to express that she wished she was having H๏τ dogs ‘with you all on 6 today.’

Some staffers usually brings in H๏τ dogs for a small group of department employees on Wednesdays.

In turn, the day has been nicknamed ‘Weiner Wednesdays’ by some within the department.

Henry’s attorney, Chris Madel, notified St. Paul city attorney Irene Kao in an April 1 letter that the police chief had formally filed a complaint, according to the outlet.

Henry filed the complaint ‘after becoming aware that the Mayor’s conduct has extended beyond isolated incidents,’ the letter, obtained by KSTP, claimed.

He is seeking to ‘address the wrongdoing but also create a measure of protection for his team,’ reiterating that Her had allegedly ‘engaged in illegal conduct towards city employees.’

Her was also accused of using ‘one or more mobile phones to communicate inappropriate, and, indeed, unlawful text messages.’

Henry’s attorney, Madel, asked the city to ‘immediately take all steps necessary to perform a full filesystem extraction’ of all of Her’s phones.

Madel also said that future litigation was ‘reasonably foreseeable.’

As a result of the complaint filed by Henry, an investigation has been opened into Her’s allegedly inappropriate conduct.

A spokesperson for Her’s office, Matt Wagenius, said the city would not comment on an active investigation.

‘The mayor has deep respect for city employees and regrets any unintended impact her actions may have had,’ Wagenius told the Minnesota Star Tribune.

The investigation allegedly includes accusations of unwanted physical contact from Her towards Henry, according to a source cited by the outlet.

However, details remain scarce as alleged witnesses have been told to not discuss the matter.

Henry’s lawyer, Madel, told the outlet that the police chief had ‘better things to do than deal with this’ and declined further comment.

The independent investigation is being conducted by Cally Kjellberg-Nelson, an employment litigation attorney at the firm Resolute Law, according to The New York Times.

The mayor’s office has not said when the review will be finalized and has not shared details about how or if its findings would be shared publicly.

‘We will honor all applicable laws when making the determination on the report,’ Wagenius told the outlet.

Her made history when she became the first woman to be elected St. Paul mayor last November.

She is also the first and only Hmong person to hold the office, having been born in Laos before moving to the US as a refugee when she was four.

Before the mayorship, Her was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, which covers parts of St. Paul.

Her faced a previous allegation of Sєxual misconduct at the beginning of the year by former family friend Shirly Yang, according to the Pioneer Press.

Yang claimed that Her introduced her to a state representative that eventually became her on-and-off boyfriend, only for the lawmaker to begin asking intrusive questions about their Sєx life.

Yang alleged that Her started unwanted conversations about Sєxuality and spirituality while seeking a restraining order against the newly-elected mayor for allegedly threatening behavior.

Ramsey County District Court Referee Elizabeth Clysdale said Her had not threatened Yang and ruled against the restraining order for a lack of evidence.
